Boughs & Berries Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up!

Whew! It has been a whirlwind week at our home! As many of you know, my mom is in Ohio visiting with us (and she's such a good cook - we are hoping that she stays a little bit longer!).

But this past weekend, we were able to attend Ronda Wade's Creative Convention in that state up north. I posted last week and showed our Shoebox Swap cards, along with mom's "regular" swap cards. SO. MUCH. FUN!

Well, to save time, we mainly stamped the cards that we made and then brought them home to put together (or put them together til something like 2 am...). Mom had most of hers put together but I'm working on two other projects right now - both non-stamping related - and I'll show pictures of the one project in about 10 days. It's for the boy's birthday, but since it's a surprise, I won't say anymore other than - it's been a bit time consuming!

SO, mom just had a couple of cards left to put together. Since she doesn't know where I squirrel away everything in my craft studio, it's just easier for me to stamp at the same time (any excuse to stamp, huh?). So we both stamped a couple of cards.

One of the card designs at the Shoebox swap used a stamp set that I had, so we just took the pieces and parts and ran. Once we got them home though, we both had a different idea for the card design.

The designer of this card already had everything cut out and embossed and used non-traditional Christmas colors - LOVE when we think outside of the box! But I wanted to use something a little different using my World of Dreams stamp set. Since all the pieces were already there, here is what I came up with:
World of Dreams

Gotta have a matching Very Vanilla Envelope, right?

The designer of the card already had the Wild Wasabi cardstock embossed with the Berries & Boughs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - LOVE THIS THING - but remember - it's a different size! She also had the So Saffron and Smoky Slate pieces diecut using her Ovals Collection Framelits and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the artwork. I also used several markers from the Many Marvelous Markers. Real Red (Brights Collection), Wild Wasabi (Subtles Collection), Crumb Cake and Soft Suede (both in the Neutrals Collection).

While I was making mine, mom worked on hers. She altered hers slightly. This is what she came up with using the new All Ye Faithful and Wonderland stamp sets:
All Ye Faithful and Wonderland

Mom put her Wild Wasabi embossed piece on Whisper White cardstock and since the oval was already diecut using the Ovals Collection Framelits... She used the Jet Black StazOn stamp pad for the Holy Family from the All Ye Faithful stamp set and colored them with an aqua painter using Brushing Bride, So Saffron, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder, and Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pads. For the pinecombs and boughs stamp of the Wonderland stamp set, she used the Crumb Cake marker (Neutrals Collection Stampin' Write Markers) and Mossy Meadow marker (2014-2016 InColor Stampin' Write Markers).

And just to show how you can use the same design but it look very different, here they are side by side:
Totally different, but still the same

We have been having just the best time - can you tell? Hope you have enjoyed the cards!
