Non-Traditional Christmas - Stampin' Up!

Now, I know it is usually "Christmas in July" when we make our Christmas cards. But this year, Stampin' Up! is doing something a little bit different. You see the new Holiday Catalog items will be available on August 28th. Which is wonderful, but really makes it hard to do a Christmas in July with traditional Christmas paper.

What to do? What to do?

Think outside of the box, of course!

In July, we had a Pelotonia FUNdraiser for my husband's Pelotonia ride. It was a LOT of fun. But without any current Christmas paper, we improvised, adapted and overcame! Check out what we did using the Park Lane Designer Series Paper!
Christmas is still Christmas, doesn't matter the color!

We made this same card using Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Suede cardstocks! For the stamp sets, we used an oldie, but a goodie, Lovely As a Tree, along with Sassy Salutations and stamped all using an Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad. I have a LOT of retired ribbons, so we used a few that matched those colors.

After everything was stamped, we ran the card design portion through my Big Shot using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Did you notice the little star on the top? Can I just tell you how much I LOVE that Stampin' Up! has now provided us with a small star punch! It is part of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I used the little flower punch on the bicycle card that I blogged about last week. You can see that blog posting HERE.

Pair that little star punch with some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and you have a card that ROCKS! In a VERY Non-Traditional way too!  Enjoy!
